Ken Ramirez

Ken is the Executive Vice-President and Chief Training Officer of Karen Pryor Clicker Training, former Executive Vice-President of animal care, and animal training at Chicago's Shedd Aquarium and former president of the International Marine Animal Trainer’s Association (IMATA).

Ken has over 40 years as a veteran animal trainer. He has worked not only a trainer but also coordinator, adviser, and consultant for many aquariums, zoos, working dog associations and groups, and research and conservation projects in various countries. He gives seminars and courses and people who want to learn about good animal care and training gather from all over the world. He is extraordinary skilled and talented in teaching people.

Ken has written for numerous scientific publications and authored countless popular articles. He wrote the book “ANIMAL TRAINING: Successful Animal Management through Positive Reinforcement,” published in 1999. He also has taught a graduate course on animal training at Western Illinois University.

Susan Friedman, Ph.D.

Susan Friedman, Ph.D.

Dr. Susan Friedman is a psychology professor at Utah State University and a pioneer in the application of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) with captive and companion animals.

Dr. Friedman teaches people who work and live with animals around the world through her online courses, “Living and Learning with Animals for Professionals” and “Living and Learning with Parrots for Caregivers,” as well as via workshops and seminars to empower and enrich the lives of the animals in our care.

Dr. Friedman provides many free educational materials and papers on her website which aid in understanding positive behavioral support and the way to build trusting relationships with our learners.
